Field Guide for Change AgentsThis is a featured page

The fourth 'R', Relationship, is one of the most important important tools to build upon if we are to succeed in generating lasting change in our schools. This session will ask participants to consider which strategies are most effective in building relationships with school, district, regional, national, and international colleagues.

Participants in this Educon 2.2 workshop were asked to identify a quote, idea, or thought that could be used to support 'change agents' in their educational work. After selecting and attributing a Creative Commons licensed photo, attendees combined the elements to create pages of the Field Guide for Change Agents. We were grateful to have participants here with us at the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia, as well as those who contributed via remote 'Elluminate' connection.

Ben: I teach a graduate class at San Jose State University on instructional design. I had my students during class divide into four groups and each group did a synthesis of the sens of their chapter. That took fifteen minutes. Then I had them each read their syntheses on walwishter at: http://www.wallwisher.com/wall/ChangeAgent5 and they they had to each post a final reflection in column five. We followed this with a big think about the message as a whole and about the learning experience. Doing the synthesis and the big think helped all of us learn the essence of the messages in the Guide.
