| We uselearnerblogs.org. At the start of each year a letter is sent home to parents explaining what a blog is and the potential benefits, both in terms of literacy, and digital citizenship. Parents are given the opportunity to give permission for work and/or photos to appear on the class blog. In a school of 500+ primary age children, only 2 sets of parents have refused both work and photo, and a handful have refused just the child's photo. By explaining this to parents, we are being transparent with what we intend to get out of using web2.0 technologies. We also never use surnames, never identify children in photos, never put photos of individual children, and moderate all comments before children get to see them. | www.ictwills.edublogs.org New Zealand | learnerblogs.org |

| This policy is one I found in DET NSW, Australia, about internet and email use. Internet and Email Services: Acceptable Usage for Schools. It covers student use more than teacher responsibility. | Grace_Kat | http://tinyurl.com/37sw36 |

| I use wikispaces. Specifically I use the educational space which is Ad-Free. Its simple and easy to use. I make all student wiki's private and invite all the students myself. I (or another teacher if the wiki is a shared space) are the only organisers so we control membership. By having it private the students have to log in, making it easy to trace who has editted what. I clearly explain expectations and rules before allowing membership.
